No. And legislation protects you from being forced to use the printer manufacturer's toner under threat of a voided warranty.

In the early days of toner cartridge remanufacturing, printer manufacturers had legitimate concerns because of the poor quality of many remanufactured/refilled toner cartridges.

However the industry matured years ago, producing high quality toner cartridges with a failure rate comparable to "new" cartridges. In fact, even the "new" cartridges often contain recycled/remanufactured components.
